Fall 2019 Athletics Registration Process
High School FOOTBALL - Registration Deadline Monday, August 12, 2019
FOOTBALL PRACTICE STARTS ON FRIDAY, AUGUST 16TH
All Other High School Sports - Registration Deadline Thursday, August 15 , 2019
ALL HIGH SCHOOL SPORTS begin Thursday, August 22, 2019
FIRST DAY OF MIDDLE SCHOOL FALL SPORTS is Wednesdsay, September 4, 2019
Please read and follow these steps carefully to successfully complete the Fall 2019 Athletic Registration process.
IMPORTANT: You are only registered for FALL sports once ALL of the required steps are completed. Contact the Technical Assistance Dept. (above) if experienceing difficulties registering.
Step 1: Students who plan to participate in GDRSD athletics (ALL LEVELS) must have a physical examination within thirteen months of the start of each season. Per state law and the MIAA, physical examinations that expire result in immediate ineligibility until a new physical examination has taken place. Physical examinations must be performed by a duly registered physician, physician's assistant or nurse practioner. Athletes WILL NOT be allowed to participate without having a physical exam that is current and in good standing.
All documention should be submitted to both the School Nurse AND to the Director of Athletics. If necessary, you can download the blank Physical Form here or scan/upload your information during the online registration process.
Step 2: Click on the ATHLETIC TEAM REGISTRATION icon at the bottom of this page to complete the registration process and eletronically sign the required District Athletics Registration Forms (Parental Consent, Bullying, Chemical Health, Opioid, and Concussion Certification).
Step 3: Your child's FALL Athletic User Fee MUST be complete online using either a Credit/Debit Card (a convenience fee does apply) or selecting the Personal Check payment option.
------ If paying by Check, it should be made out to GDRSD ATHLETICS and delivered to the Athletic Office c/o GDRHS (PO Box 730, Groton, MA). Please remember to include your child's name and sport on the memo line to be properly credited.
Step 4: Once you have completed these steps, you will receive a screen notification confirming successful completion and are registered to fully participate in the Groton-Dunstable Regional School District’s athletics program for the designated season (Fall, Winter, Spring).
USER FEE INFORMATION
All student-athletes participating in the Groton-Dunstable Regional School District’s athletics program are required to pay an athletic participation user fee per School Committee policy. The 2019-2020 High School Athletic User Fee is $400.00 per sport/per season. The Middle School Athletic User Fee is $210.00 per sport/season. The winter sports of Ice Hockey ($500.00 per season + the cost of practice ice) and Alpine Ski ($150.00 + the cost of a Student Season Pass at Nashoba Valley Ski Area) - please do not buy your own ticket, as we purchase them at a reduced rate. These additional costs reflect the up-charge of off-site facility usage. Fees can be paid online once families set up a payment account. Cooperative sports participants will be responsible for the cost of the host school's Athletic User Fee.
